EAT LESS MEAT
“If you care about the planet, it’s actually better to eat a salad in a Hummer than a cheeseburger in a Prius.” – Bill Maher . . . here.
A BATTERY CHEAP ENOUGH TO CHANGE THE GAME?
Here is one more of a slew of encouraging high-tech reports: a battery the size of a refrigerator that could cost $2,000, last a decade, sit in millions of basements, recharging from solar panels on the roof, powerful enough to handle all your needs (with the power company there merely as a backup). Brighter days do lie ahead, disruptive as getting from here to there may be.
Quote of the Day
A penny saved may be a penny earned, but it's one boring penny. A penny invested, on the other hand, bounces around. It gets bigger one day, smaller the next. A bit player in the drama of global finance, that penny buys a guy a balcony seat in the theater of macroeconomics.
